All the characters are REDUCED to stereotyical americanized cliches!

Goku is a emo whiner and trade the Ki blast of light energy for airbending puffs of smoke.

Bulma is a gung-ho type that screams Lara Croft.

Roshi turned less of his usual perverted self into more bashful.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Dragonball: Evolution! Click Here

Yamcha is a surfer dude like moron.

And Piccolo is a Star wars Sith!

Oozaru is 8ft instead of 80ft!! (I walked out of the theater indignant because of that)

And all the actors reek!

The fighting is sloppy. The writing is garbage. The Directing is beyond bad.

There are many rip-offs (Spiderman,Star Wars,Avatar TLA,Matrix)

This has the name Dragonball on it but don’t put a question to anything of the sort! It’s a DISCRACE!!! Who ever gives 5 stars likes cheesy crappy movies.

AVOID THIS FILM at all costs it’s a sizable extinguish of money!!!!!

Which is the worst movie you have ever seen? Assume about it. Now multiply that times 10 and you have Dragonball: Evolution. This movie was so terrible, that people around me at the theater were booing and some actually left! The only reason I stayed because my kids had been wanting to search for it, but my youngest fell asleep midway and the other two told me afterwards that they view the movie was monotonous(yes, their words!) because it didn’t compose sense or even follow the cartoon. I have to say I hated this movie more than Catwoman or Battlefield Earth on my share. I don’t doubt that this movie in the future will be in the catagory of worst movies ever made. For those who have not seen it, sorry, I’m not going to bother to even summarize the space because it’s fair that ridiculous and corpulent of the worst cliches possible.

What makes it worse is that makers of this movie have changed the title on the DVD/Blu-ray by adding “Z Edition” to build it seem like the it has more to offer than the movie. What a rip off! I wouldn’t even purchase this as a DVD up in the $1 bin at Wal-Mart.

One of the finest films of all time, directed by Fred ( High Noon, From Here to Eternity ) Zinnemann. Among the ensemble of players are Wendy Hiller, Orson Welles, Susanna York, Robert Shaw, Leo Mc Kern and–in one of his earliest roles–a young John Damage. Truly a cast for all seasons!

It’s an acting lesson, headed by the mountainous Paul Scofield who not only captures the essence of Sir Thomas Moore, but who does so with fine economy of motion; he hardly makes a gesture thoughout the entire film— Duse would have loved it.

How does he do it? Well, as I said, it’s an acting lesson. Suffice it to say he rightly deserved winning the Oscar.

Robert Bolt’s shiny play is a recognize of contrasts with a mystery at the heart of the theme: Was Moore a Saint who is now in Heaven with The Blessed, or was he a fool who could have died in his bed at a ripe faded age after a lifetime of domestic felicity and the highest honors his country could bestow upon him?

If there is no God, or if you acquire that the conflict between The Anglican and Catholic Churches to be of no paramount importance, is your integrity smooth worth losing your head on the chopping block?

Hmm. . .

Magnificent in every respect.

I have loved this movie since I saw it in its unique release too many years ago. Certainly, Sir Thomas More was a aesthetic person who died a martyr and has been canonized a saint. However, don’t confuse the play and movie with the flesh and blood man. He was great more complex in actual life than the purely valid performance of Paul Scofield. You can read the biography of Thomas More by Peter Ackroyd to acquire at some of his complexities.

But this is a astonishing movie and I recommend it with grand enthusiasm. It is a much movie and can have some useful at least temporary curative finish on the soul suffering under the ironical detachment and cynicism of our time. Scofield is unbelievable and the definitive performance of this role. Orson Welles is quite special as the tubby and despicable Cardinal Wolsey. John Wound is splendid as the traitor Richard Rich. Shaw is resplendent as Henry VIII as is the rest of the cast.

And who can forget the line where More asks to perceive chain of office that Richard Rich was given to perjure himself and betray More. After examining it and being told that Sir Richard was made the Attorney General of Wales More says, “Richard, it profits a man nothing to trade his soul for the whole world, but for Wales …” Amazing stuff.

The disk offers the wide veil theatrical release and a pudgy mask version for those who like to perceive less of the report in order to avoid the upper and lower “bars”. There is also the modern trailer.

There are no other features on the disk beyond scene selection.

This disk belongs in every collection and should be reviewed regularly as an healthful tonic to support remedy the bilious nihilism of our age.

Columbia’s spring, 1959 release, “It Happened to Jane” should have been a box-office crash. It certainly had all the makings of a hit.

Buy,Download, Or Stream It Happened to Jane! Click Here

Starring Doris Day and Jack Lemmon, two of the screen’s most gifted droll performers, featuring a spacious supporting cast and station amidst some of the most comely scenery seen up to that date in wide-screen, it nevertheless opened and closed rather quick.

Perhaps it was the title or the general lack of enthusiasm the studio seemed to have for the film, but it nevertheless provided more than grand entertainment for audiences who did venture into the theatres where it played and now, beautifully presented on DVD (It was never, oddly enough, given a release on video), it should more than provide grand pleasures for those who select or rent this appetizing romp.

Buy,Download, Or Stream It Happened to Jane! Click Here

In short it is the memoir of a widow, with two children, who raises lobsters in a puny Maine town who takes on a considerable railroad whose indifference had caused her to lose a shipment. She is assisted in her battle by smalltown lawyer/boyfriend, Jack Lemmon. This being Hollywood, the outcome may seem rather predictable but getting there is such fun that you can’t assist but smile throughout and from time to time let out a major guffaw.

The film was released about 6 months before Doris Day began her many year reign as the top box-office star in the world. The film that made that possible was “Pillow Talk”. She was Oscar-nominated for her turn in that film but she is equally as honorable as Janie Osgood in this report.

She beautifully epitomizes the strong willed, obvious Modern England stock she plays and the audience is rooting for her from the first frame. It is a very skilled performance utilizing the natural empathy audiences feel for her and allowing her to show her one of a kind droll timing coupled with the “heart” comedy that she does better than anyone else. Miss Day and Lemmon are tall together and one can only wish they’d had another chance to work together since they are naturals.

Lemmon does the sometimes neurotic, high-strung portrayal that he did skillfully for decades but it has rarely been funnier and more ample.

Ernie Kovacs has the role of his lifetime as railroad mogul, Harry Foster Malone. He chews the scenery with such skill and his scenes with Day and Lemmon are memorable. You abhor his character but also like the be pleased with which the actor plays it.

Great supporting performances are contributed by Steve Forrest, Parker Fennelly, who briefly tried to have Percy Kilbride’s shoes in a “Kettle” comedy at Universal, and Mary Wickes, making her fourth ample cloak appearance opposite Miss Day. (She would appear opposite her one more time, ten years later when she guest-starred on Miss Day’s hit CBS television series) .

Richard Quine, who never achieved major success as a director despite a handful of marvelous films and would forever be known as the man who accidentally shot and insecure his one time actress-wife Susan Peters, directs with confidence and capability. As celebrated by many, there is a Frank Capra-esque quality about the proceedings.

Miss Day sings the title tune and another song during the film in her veteran plot (i.e. one of the screen’s best female singers), and there are surprise appearances by several game point to performers of the time.

“It Happened to Jane” may finally accumulate the reputation it deserves as one of 1959’s happiest surprises.

IT HAPPENED TO JANE was up until this DVD release something of a `lost classic’, having never been released on video and appearing only rarely on TV and cable. Doris Day stars in another domestic comedy which suits her wholesome girl-next-door persona to a tee.

She plays Jane Osgood, a young widow in Cape Anne, Maine, who runs a lobster farming business. When one of her shipments returns with the lobsters stupid inside, Jane discovers that it was the fault of the railroad company. She turns to her faded friend George Denham (Jack Lemmon) a young lawyer, and together they purchase on the tyrannical head of the railways Harry Foster Malone (Ernie Kovacs) . It’s a cute, often very laughable comedy. Doris Day and Jack Lemmon are current and curious in the lead roles, and Day gets 2 numbers (”Be Prepared” and the Title Song) . The movie also features Mary Wickes, Steve Forrest and Jayne Meadows. Based on a sage by Max Wilk and Norman Katkov.

The DVD record looks vast, in a colourful anamorphic print. Extras consist of trailers for other Columbia classic movie titles.

Going in, I’d never even heard of the “battle in Seattle,” as I was only 13 years archaic at the time of the protests. But now that I’m aware of the event, it makes me wonder why the controversies with the WTO aren’t smooth being discussed on a larger scale.

This is something that we should all be concerned about, and Stuart Townsend has done us a favor by introducing the issues in a format that is riveting, informative, and inspirational. If there’s one thing Battle in Seattle does best, it’s that it fires you up to assume action any contrivance you can.

Not to mention the tremendous production values, absolutely stellar cast, and intense action sequences (Intense because they’re dependable! Steady footage was old-fashioned) .

I would highly recommend attending a showing of this film with your family and friends, because these matters are vital to us all, and Stuart’s presentation of them is nothing short of breathtaking.

Promising fresh director STUART TOWNSEND — perhaps better known for his starring roles in films such as “A League of Wonderful Gentlemen” or “Queen of the Damned” — proves to be an effective storyteller with his skillful and dramatic recreation of events surrounding the historic World Trade Organiation riots in Seattle. Featuring an impressive, but not distracting, all-star cast, “Battle In Seattle” presents an effective and lively inspect at the motivations unhurried those forces who want to control the world’s marketplace, with those who will fight for freedom, opportunity and balance in commerce. Regardless of one’s political or economic leanings, the film holds the audience by presenting the human-drama endured by participants on both sides of the police lines. Townsend handles his cast with skill and grace, perhaps borne from years of his absorb experience in front of the camera. Given a more traditionally structured screenplay (and a less controversial topic), you can inquire of to peep something truly profound from Stuart Townsend in upcoming films. Of all of the movies that I maintain, I sustain coming serve to the Shaft movies. I wish that they could have made more of them. Don’t listen to others, this one is impartial as worthy as the first one!

Buy,Download, Or Stream Shaft/Shaft’s Big Score!! Click Here

This is the typical tale of the dark man against the Italian-American(dim blood is on them also..) for control of the ghetto. This one is kindly because it takes a recognize into gloomy people with money in the early 70’s. This film has action, sex, tale, chases and a mob boss who doe snot mind you talking sh*t to him, but touch his food or matrial items and he is pissed!

If you like dismal exploitation films or if you are white and you like raw action films, find this. Shaft is Africa was a tiny different(could be why they never made another), but quiet ok. Shaft’s Broad Gain should be your rep.

Because of the success of the unique “Shaft,” MGM upgraded the series, giving more action scenes and less nudity; so this time Shaft in the opening credits drives a car in the midnight Fresh York while in the previous film he was walking down the street.

The basic of the narrative is not particuarly new. It is about the missing money from the obliging of Shaft’s friend and insurance broker. As Shaft starts his investigation, a crime syndicate is looking for the money while it tries to end him, but of course, it’s a very, very base plan. Our Shaft, keeping the police and Bumpy (Moses Gunn re-appearing from the new) at bay, gets what he wants, as always!

Buy,Download, Or Stream Shaft/Shaft’s Big Score!! Click Here

Gordon Parks (who had a long mighty career as photographer, and himself appearing as a croupier here) demonstrates he is also excellent at presenting impressive action scenes, especially the fling scenes at the ruin of the film. However, by the today’s standard, they might notice too long and stretched. Actually, the stunts themselves are impressive, but if the editing had been tighter, they would be great better.

Richard Roundtree looks as sexy as ever, and entertains us with his suave arrangement of talking to girls. Other characters are drawn better than recent “Shaft.” Charismatic Julius W Harris is cast effectively as a detective, and the conception of clarinet-playing gangster is bright. And Drew Bundini Brown’s Willy is a standout. The movie is a noble, if not perfect, action thriller.

After the success of the Gundam movies, Yoshiyuki Tomino moved onto to two sequels series, Gundam Z and ZZ. Finally, after the all this time, Tomino decided it was time for Amuro and Char’s last mission in a full-length Gundam movie. The fans went wild.

The narrative takes off in the year UC 0093. Without any explanation at this time, Char is now the leader of Neo Zeon and plans to send the Earth into a nuclear winter as well as defeat his long-time nemesis, Amuro. But with many faded and unusual characters mixed up in this battle, it won’t be splendid.

Quess: A cocky rich daughter who runs off with Neo Zeon.
Gyunei: Char’s pupil with Newtype abilities.
Cameron: Mirai’s ex-fiance who is now works for the economy.
Lalah Sune: Despite being monotonous, her ghost composed haunts the dreams of Amuro and Char.

The animation for a 1980’s film is top notch. The funnels moves about at an insane lunge battling each other across the shroud. Its a marvel to glance. What this film tried to do was cram as noteworthy grunt and action as it could into two hours and they did a mammoth job at that. The unique order actors from the English version of the TV series acquire their debut once again. They all do a relatively profitable job and are almost on par with the Japanese cast.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Mobile Suit Gundam - Char’s Counterattack! Click Here

The audio is quite impressive as well. You secure both language tracks in either 2.0 or 5.1 Dolby. An enthralling stamp is that the Japanese track has not been remixed as it was with the three Gundam movies. This marks as the first Tomino Gundam feature not to have been tampered with so go nuts. Sadly, the English track falls help on all those sounds you heard in the remix versions of Gundam.

The extras own up splendid well, but aren’t really groundbreaking. There are two theatrical trailers for the movie, but without it being in widescreen accomplish, you feel you’ve lost something. The other extra is the Gundam model music video which shows how models are save into production. Not all that fun, but aloof informative. The last extra is a filmography of all of Tomino’s works which is nice if you haven’t seen it yet.

Overall, Char’s Counterattack ended up being everything I hoped it would. Raging Newtypes battling each other furiously in mobile suits. I couldn’t ask for better than this.

Where would anime be nowadays without series like “Mobile Suit Gundam? ” I shudder to believe. Very few anime have had the impact that “Gundam” has had since it first premiered in 1979. No one foresaw what was to become of the series. In 1988 this is the ultimate result; the greatest battle in anime history.

“Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack” was made to provide closure to a rivalry that had been going on for nearly ten years. The rivalry being between the two main characters of the current “Mobile Suit Gundam,” the first Gundam pilot, Amuro Ray, and the dreaded Zeon ace, Char Aznable. The narrative takes location in Universal Century 0093, about 14 years after the events in “Mobile Suit Gundam,” and peace has been disrupted once again (how long does peace actually last in this universe? ) . The long-dormant Char Aznable has risen to buy the reigns of leadership of the Neo-Zeon movement, and ultimately plans on destroying the Earth Federation. The Federation, in retaliation, send out their Lando Bell Force to cessation Char. Among one of the top members of Lando Bell, is none other than Amuro Ray. The two men collected sport grudges against one another even after fourteen years, and it all comes down to this moment. Who will survive?

Bandai took some grand risks in bringing this title to the States. Considering that there is 3 series worht of backstory to this movie, an excess of 150 episodes. It is easy to perceive people who have not followed “Mobile Suit Gundam.” Thankfully, Bandai has included a 12-page booklet with the DVD to advise exactly what happened that sparked up between Char and Amuro over these fourteen years. As well as terminology and who’s who in this Gundam yarn. Even if you know all these things, the booklet is a tremendous collector’s item. Anyway, on to the broad stuff.

The account is handsomely well-played out. Events go at such an erratic ride that one can’t encourage but to let the film sweep them in. One slight, everything is smooth and characters are learning, in the next tiny, explosions everywhere and people are insensible. This is by all means a war legend that rivals even “Star Wars.” When people die in “Gundam”…they die, no two ways about it. War is not galmorized in this series, war is a last resort for a urge of creatures that deliberatly leads itself towards a last resort. And humanity? Well I heard Yoshiyuki Tomino voice on this matter, and since he is the “Father of Gundam” his words are better than mine; “No matter how destructive they can be, humanity is quiet stunning.” A theme that has been a staple of “Gundam” ever since.

Characters are well-portrayed in this movie, bringing forth an array of recent blood as well as ancient faces. Char and Amuro have grown and matured over the course of time. Amuro has turned from the whiny kid who refused to pilot Gundam into a hardened battle feeble who realizes his duties and responsibilities. Char has turned from a bitter Zeon soldier into an idealistic leader who wants nothing more than the destruction of those who Considering that Tomino didn’t have fifty episodes to say a sage like he always does (kidding), to analyze these characters and flesh them out in a span of 2 hours is quite a feat. Lives are changed through out this conflict, and it can be seen in the characters disquieted expressions and anguished cries.

The animation is very well-done for it’s time. This is definitely movie-quality animation. Especially during the climactic battle scenes. Very few anime have been able to conduct battle scenes this chaotic and destructive without losing something, this is one of the few. It’s nice to spy something that a nearly fifteen year-old movie can fill its acquire against “higher quality” stuff nowadays.

Speaking of animation, this movie features the best-looking mecha to date. The mecha in this film were designed by Yutaka Izubuchi, most well-known for “Patlabor” and “Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket.” It was also helped by, at the time, the young members of GAINAX, yup before they made “Furi Kuri,” “Kare Kano,” “Evangelion,” “Gunbuster,” or even “Wings of Honeiamise,” they were doing small animation projects for Sunrise. If you don’t hold me, check out the designs for Char’s Sazabi and Amuro’s Nu Gundam. The Gundam featured in this movie is probably the coolest Gundam featured in any medium that carries the name.

The music also goes very well with the movie. Music is actually fully-orchestrated and helps justify the gargantuan memoir nature of this film. It is very difficult not to be moved by some of these gargantuan pieces. Definitely, a ample change of lag for those who are familiar with the techno-beat of “Gundam Cruise” or the trendy pop of “Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory.” This is “Bravehaert” meets “Star Wars,” and if that isn’t chronicle, I don’t know what is.

Sound was weak very well in the film. Bandai decided to compliment both Japanese and English tracks with both 2.0 and 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtracks. What does that mean? Well, honest crank up the volume and listen to things go Announce.

The only flaws I have seen in the movie would be the spacious backstory that might alienate those who haven’t seen “Gundam.” That, and the ending is not feasible the first time one watches it. However, one of the key reasons to absorb this is so you can glance the anime again and realize what the ending means. And to those who have already seen the movie; yes the ending DOES perform sense, the hint is actually in the film.

In the demolish, “Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack” is quite possibly the best “Gundam” title to date. Providing closure to the greatest anime rivalry of all time was no easy task. But Tomino was able to pull it off with grace. This is an chronicle by every means of the word. A clear imprint that “Gundam” is synonomous with “eternal.”

First a fleet word about these later seasons:

SEASON 4 - only 19 recent half hour shows were produced. The rest of the season was filled out with re-runs.

SEASON 5 - NO novel half hour shows were produced. BUT 66 novel 3.5 cramped Rocky & Bullwinkle segments were produced to be inserted into older shows, replacing the older Rocky & Bullwinkle segments. Thus 33 half hour shows were created for the 5th season re-using the secondary cartoons from previous seasons.

Each of the three stories starts out with one opening title piece from season 2, a brief Rocky & Bullwinkle intro. And then the memoir chapters, uncut but with out the individual intros. Midway through we atomize for a Bullwinkle Fan Club or Bullwinkle’s Corner segment, then aid to the anecdote. At the waste of each completed epic is a station of raze credits based on the second season credits, but copyrighted 1997.

The episodes:

POTTSYLVANIA CREEPER - 6 chapters from season 5. Influenced by the cult classic film Exiguous SHOP OF HORRORS, Boris sells Bullwinkle a mountainous plant that eats people. Previously available in edited beget on VHS volume 9 and Laserdisc volume 5. This version is unedited with all cliffhangers & re-caps intact.

MOOSYLVANIA - 4 chapters from season 5. Influenced by Jay Ward’s steal of a dinky island that he called “Moosylvania”. In this first allotment, Moosylvania is located in the Pacific Ocean, come California. Rocky & Bullwinkle try to glean Washington D.C. to impart state-hood for their island. Boris & Natasha fabricate a false Washington D.C. to confuse them. Previously available in edited earn on VHS volume 8 and Laserdisc volume 4. This version is unedited with all cliffhangers & re-caps intact.

MOOSYLVANIA SAVED - 4 chapters from season 5. This final Rocky & Bullwinkle record is the only sequal produced, although characters from previous stories would re-appear in other stories. Strangely within the same year as the first piece of this myth, the island of Moosylvania has now moved to the mammoth lakes inbetween Canada and the U.S., where Jay’s dependable island was. Canada & The U.S. argue that the island belongs to the other country while R&B inquire befriend for their failing island. Previously available in edited get on VHS volume 8 and Laserdisc volume 4. This version is unedited with all cliffhangers & re-caps intact.

There is no bonus material other than a forgettable brief collage of clips showing Boris in various disguises. This disc runs only 60 minutes and should have had twice the material, especially since stories 2 & 3 are more like one long memoir. Calm it is well worth getting as these are season 5 stories & season 5 was not a completely modern season. Therefore a season 5 box spot is very unlikely to happen.

In all, there were 28 Rocky and Bullwinkle serials, from the 40 episode Jet Fuel Formula to the 4 episode Moosylvania Saved, 326 episodes in all. The three complete seasons available on DVD served up the first 13 serials, a total of 222 episodes. You can assume up one unusual 4 episode legend on The Best of Rocky and Bullwinkle. This DVD contains three serials in 14 chapters, “Pottsylvania Creeper”, “Moosylvania”, and “Moosylvania Saved”. Fair 11 more serials (86 episodes) to go.

This BBC/A&E production is one of the most well made films my wife and I have ever seen - superb acting, costumes, sets and location, music, directing, editing!! Like others here, we have watched the A&E VHS edition over and over. (It is a ‘chick flick’, but I enjoy romantic movies, too.)

Our excitement over getting the DVD faded upon loading both the VHS tape and DVD and comparing the images and sound. The widescreen image on the DVD is definitely more clear on our 50″ high res screen, and it is a pleasure to see the full images framed as the Director intended.

HOWEVER, the colors are not just washed out. The digital remastering has changed the color tone of the film as if someone used a Photoshop/Premier digital filter without knowing what they were doing. The VHS and original not only had rich color saturation, but also had a warm tone that felt ‘right’ with the period film. The DVD is not only washed out, but has a strong blue-white tone to it that gives a cold modern feel to the scenes.

To get the image to look close to decent on our TV, I had to turn the color saturation up as far as it would go, bring the contrast down and the brightness up. It then almost matched the VHS images except for the blue-ish rather than warm overall cast.

The sound is tinny, much of the lower frequencies that are on the VHS sound track being chopped off.

There are no subtitles at all (we frequently turn them on for other DVDs when we cannot quite make out the dialog) - much less alternative language tracks.

So, why is this edition ‘Special’? The only additions, other than the abysmal digital remastering (digital destruction) are:
(1) an 8-page booklet (that mentions only 3 of the actors)
(2) some text-only biography screens, that mention only 2 of the actors
(3) a 20-some minute ‘making of’ feature that gives the producer most of the credit (and she did of course put the team together, but the director/editor/actors/choreographer/costumers/etc produced the art) - and which still only visits with 4 of the actors - out of this tremendously talented cast.

What was supposed to be a ’special’ Christmas gift, ended up being a tremendous disappointment. We can only hope that A&E and BBC will produce an ‘Extra Special’ edition that gets the color and sound back to the director’s intention (did he even get to review this DVD?). That, and a rebate for all of us who bought this defective edition, would make us happy enough. Adding subtitles, profiles of everyone else involved in the production, and stills of the various homes, heritage buildings and towns used would be (delicious, but optional) gravy.

“Pride and Prejudice” is one of the top 10 novels ever written. The BBC miniseries with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle is the finest adaptation to date. The actors are superb. The screen play is accurate, comprehensive, parsimonious, and entertaining. The dialogue is beautiful and preserves much of Jane Austin’s witty and wry commentary. The cinematography is superb. The film was shot in authentic locations all over Britain.

I thought the film adaptation by the BBC and A&E was so fine, I bought the VCR tapes when they were released, then I bought the lazer disk version, and then I bought the DVD version. The DVD version is a big fat disappointment. The quality of the DVD transfer is NOT good.

First, the colors appear faded and with the Regency English palette of beige-greens, browns, ambers, and taupes, this is a serious defect. It makes the clothing look worn, the grass and trees look sunburned, and some places, the complexions look downright washed out. The film appears to have been shot in Arizona at high noon instead of England.

Second, for some bizarre reason, the DVD processors nipped and tucked some of the original material. The clipped portions might not bother one who has never seen the original–but I noticed. There was no need to edit this film. Four of the 50-minute sections are crammed on disk 1 (where the editing takes place) and the other two were recorded on disk 2. I guess it would have made too much sense to record three episodes on each disk? Seems like poor planning to me.

For the price of this 2-disk DVD package, more care should have been taken with the transfer process. My lazer disk version cost less, holds more, and has beautiful resolution.

At first I wasn’t too distinct about this series, I belief it wouldn’t have enought romance/comedy, but i was contaminated. This is one of the best series I have seen, and latley I have found myself collecting all of the extinct anime classics instead of some of the fresh series out there. This boxset, is awesome because it comes with the complete tv sereies, plus the ova, blue seed beyond, not to mention the extras include omake theatere, which are comic stories racy each of the anime characters. The backround music, is really advantageous, i can’t wait to select the soundtrack, the opening song “carnivel Babel” gets stuck in your head. So if you are an anime fan, than give blue seed a chance you won’t be dissappointed :)

The life of a teenage girl can be stressful enough, but Momiji Fujimiya is a bit more stressed than usual — it turns out that rotten plant monsters are out to earn her. Yes, unfriendly plant monsters.

Fortunately if you can swallow that, most of the rest of this series will be a fair spellbinding dart. While it starts rather shakily (and with a very patchy dub), “Blue Seed: Mitama Collection” unwinds into a complex anime chunky of grotesque monsters, teen romance, blam-blam action and international strife as the whole world is threatene, et cetera et cetera. It’s fluffy fun, but what sets it apart is a heavy dose of Japanese folklore. The sequel’s a bit of a dud, though.

One day on the diagram to school, Momiji Fujimiya is confronted by two bizarre creatures — a young man (Kusanagi) with seven “blue seed” mitamas embedded in his body, who tries to demolish her; and a serpentine plant monster (Orochi) . Turns out she’s fraction of an extinct family line, the Kushinada, that can end the aragami (sort of plant monsters) .

But then Orochi invades Momiji’s high school to end her, and is barely stopped by the Terrestrial Administration Center (a motley band of scientists, soldiers and government officials) . Before Momiji knows it, she’s been handed over to Mr. Kunikida of the TAC, and Kusanagi has changed his mind about killing her — now he wants to protect her, no matter what. Oh yeah, and the Kushinada before her was a twin sister named Kaede, now presumed boring.

And life with the TAC is rarely boring: they fight a bizarre jellyfish, a giant water blob, a grotesque crow, a tree aragami at an idol demonstrate (where Momiji song-duels with an American Shinto priestess), mutated dogs, a fire-breathing frog, a building-sized centipede, and a bloodsucking creature that can control people. Then a unique trio of enemies appear — a treacherous Kushinada plan to be boring, a detestable man with eight mitama, and the reborn god Susano-o. As the aragami grow in power and number, Momiji becomes plagued with doubts… and the apprehension that she will lose everything.

And then there’s the OAV, which takes position a couple years later — a furious scientist is creating his absorb price of aragami, and assorted TAC members are having romantic woes of one kind or another (Momiji has a savor rival) . It’s a totally extraneous yarn that feels like it was whipped up for a few extra bucks and some random fanservice. And it doesn’t develop grand sense either (a bomber in a hot spring? That’s it? ) .

“Blue Seed: Mitama Collection” starts off a diminutive wobbly. Initially the stories are geared towards fighting the aragami-of-the-week, and a some episodes are unprejudiced ridiculous — a couple of them actually hinge on a pop idol competition and PANTY-PREDICTION software. Seriously. But the series starts to flower when it returns to the roots of Japanese folklore and anecdote, complete with kappa, an immortal woman, and a reborn god.

Additionally, as the account becomes more complex and darker, it also brings in an overarcing storyline that stretches all the diagram to the destroy. But the writers also support the main storyline saturated with lighter fare, to remind us that these are people with ordinary lives to live — a cute small romance between Momiji and Kusanagi, and some fun glimpses at how the various TAC members act around one another. And of course, plenty of explosions, gunfire and messy splattery action scenes.

In the first three episodes, Momiji is as endearing as a cat ice-skating on a blackboard — she whines almost continuously. Fortunately she becomes a far more likable heroine as the series goes on, grappling with insecurities and worries that seem all too realistic. Kusanagi is a likable counterpart for Momiji: strong, worthy, but detached relaxed enough to tease her about her underwear whenever he gets a chance. Of course he’s also utterly socially inept, which makes their budding romance a bit more difficult.

And unlike many an anime demonstrate, the supporting cast is dazzling colourful, even if they sometimes arrive across as stereotypes (the Genius Loser-Nerd, the Gung-Ho Gun Girl, the Scientist immersed in her work, etc) . Fortunately each character is explored lovingly and given their hold quirks and weaknesses, making them seem quite proper and endearing.

It’s worth noting that the English dub for this series isn’t of grand quality. In fact at the launch of the series, it’s heavenly bad — Momiji’s whisper, Kusanagi’s toneless yells, and Matsudaira’s scratchiness. Fortunately the bellow actors fetch the hang of it a few episodes in, and they’re doing a ravishing decent job by the middle of the series.

“Blue Seed: Mitama Collection” starts off wobbly in many ways, but it also serves up plenty of monsters, mayhem, and Japanese folklore. Worth seeing, and actually goes from mediocre to smart in a short time.

This documentary combines adventure, history and an incredible spiritual run. It answered the many questions I had about Jesus’ childhood years…where he went, what he did…. all while being pursued by King Herod’s soldiers. The film makes you feel like you are with Paul Perry every step of the draw on this unbelievable stir. The places and things seen and heard on this DVD are truly astounding. I recommend this to EVERYONE!!!! A MUST Look!!! This is truly…..”The Greatest Sage Never Told”…..until now!!

Enjoyed watching the DVD not only for the information about Jesus during his early years but also about the culture of Egypt. I did like the info about the footstep of Egypt and about each of the stories some of the cramped towns have kept in their oral history. Also, nice filming and information about areas of Egypt that the typical tourist doesn’t visit. It also gives you a different version of the variety of religions in the location. Makes it apparent these different religions can actually pick up along! I also notice that Paul Perry has book out on the subject as well as a website jesusinegypt.com … Nice job!
